    Shopify Rebellion is a Canadian esports organization created by Tobias Lütke, CEO of Shopify, in 2021. The team has active rosters in League of Legends, Valorant, Dota 2, Halo, Rocket League, StarCraft II, and Street Fighter.

    History

    Creation of Shopify Rebellion

    Tobias Lütke announced the creation of Shopify Rebellion on his Twitter account on February 19th, 2021. The organization entered the Legends Championship Series (LCS) by acquiring the franchise slot of TSM in September 2023.

    2024 Preseason

    Shopify Rebellion incorporated several members from TSM’s previous roster, including Reven, Insanity, Wildturtle, and Bugi. Zayzel and FakeGod joined the team from Disguised in NACL. Bvoy, who has Korean residency, was imported from Brazil.

    2024 Spring Split

    WildTurtle was the bot laner for the first two games of the split where the team went 0W-2L. Bvoy was the bot laner for the remainder of the season where the team went 5W-7L. The team concluded the regular season with a 5W-9L record, landing them in 7th place and missing out on the playoffs.

    Trivia

    • Shopify Rebellion was known as the "blue shell team" during their 2024 Spring Split for their favorable performance against first place teams, in reference to the blue shell item from Mario Kart.
