Biography

Brandon "Saintvicious" DiMarco is from Mauldin, South Carolina, in the USA. He grew up playing games on Nintendo. He began playing League when his girlfriend at the time bought him the collector’s edition. [27]. He has continued to play League since the early beta.

Season 1

Saintvicious started his career in League of Legends playing top for the original lineup of Team Solomid. In Feburary of 2011 he left Team Solomid for Counter Logic Gaming, replacing Kobe24 in the jungle. CLG attended the Riot Season 1 Championship in Sweden in June 2011, placing second in their group and then fifth overall in the tournament. [28]

Preseason 2

Saintvicious continued to play for CLG throughout the Season 2 Preseason. After the Season 1 Championship, he and CLG won several major tournaments in a row. First, they won in the online National ESL Premier League Season 1, and then they attended their second international LAN tournament: IEM Cologne. CLG won their group 3-0 and then defeated Millenium and TSM in the bracket to win the tournament. They also won MLG Raleigh in August, this time beating Epik Gamer in the finals.

At IEM Guangzhou in October 2012, CLG's hot streak cooled off slightly, but they still finished in second place, losing to Team WE both in the group stage and in the finals. [29] Immediately after Guangzhou, the team attended IPL3, in Atlantic City. There, they defeated A Picture of A Goose in the first round but then lost to Dignitas in the semifinals before beating TSM in the third-place match. One week later, CLG flew to New York to play in IEM New York; this time taking home fourth place after defeats to SK Gaming and Sypher in the playoffs.

In November, Saintvicious with CLG attempted to qualify for MLG Providence; however, in the qualifier they were intending to use a Lilac, but when he was unable to participate, they fielded Lapaka instead. Because Lapaka was officially on the roster of Absolute Legends for the event, CLG was disqualified and RFLX Gaming advanced to the top four and attended MLG Providence instead. [30]

Season 2

In the beginning of season 2, Saintvicious took part in the All American team Chicks Dig Elo (CDE) which was formed by players from Team SoloMid, Epik Gamer and Counter Logic Gaming since their normal teams could not compete in the 2011 World Cyber Games due to their lineups not being from entirely one country. In the American WCG trials, they took second place behind Team Dignitas to earn the right to be one of the two American League teams at the 2011 WCG finals in Busan. They then dominated the finals, winning the gold medal without losing a match. In an all-American quarterfinal, they avenged their US trial championship loss against Dignitas and then bested a Millennium team playing for France before beating Gameburg Team, who was representing Poland, in the gold medal match.

Saintvicious returned to CLG’s standard lineup with HotshotGG, bigfatlp, Doublelift, and Chauster, which participated in and won the online NESL Premier League Season 2 playoffs. Their next event wasn't until February 2012, when they played in the LoLPro.com Curse Invitational and came in second. In March, they attended their next LAN, the IEM World Championship in Hanover. They placed second in their group behind Dignitas and then lost in the semifinals to Moscow Five, the eventual winners of the tournament. Saintvicious and CLG ended up taking home 3rd place after a victory over against All authority.[31]

On March 12, 2012, CLG temporarily moved to a gaming house in South Korea in order to train and participate in Azubu The Champions Spring 2012. Placed in Group B, CLG entered playoffs but immediately lost to MiG Blaze, the eventual tournament winners, in the quarterfinals. While in Korea, CLG also competed in the online Leaguecraft ggClassic. They lost in the semifinals to 4Not.Fire and then forfeited their third-place match against JPak and Friends. They also briefly flew to Las Vegas (in the United States) to attend IPL 4 from April 6 to April 8. After being sent to the loser's bracket by Dignitas in the second round, they came back to play against TSM in the grand final, which they ultimately lost to place second overall. On April 25, Saintvicious along with CLG moved back to North America.

In May 2012 Saintvicious participated in roster swaps between CLG, Curse Gaming and Dignitas and left to join Curse to replace their jungler Crumbzz. Team Curse competed in at the MLG 2012 - Spring Championship, where the newly reformed team was able to place 7th/8th. On August 26, Saintvicious with Curse won the 2012 MLG Pro Circuit/Summer/Championship, beating Dignitas in the best of 5 finals 3-2. However, both teams were disqualified by MLG and Riot for violating MLG's Official Pro Circuit Conduct Rules: "competitors may not intentionally Forfeit a Game or conspire to manipulate Rankings or Brackets." No prize money or circuit points were awarded to either teams.[32][33]

On August 20, Curse would compete in the North American Regional Season 2 World Championship Qualifier, but failed to qualify, placing 4th, losing to Counter Logic Gaming in the third-place match.

Preseason 3

Following the conclusion of Season 2, on October 19, 2012, Curse hosted an Extra Life League of Legends charity stream marathon supporting the Seattle Children's Hospital. [34] Team Curse would pick up gold in two minor tournaments in Solo Mid Series Week 4 and Solo Mid Series Week 5.

Curse with a roster including Saintvicious would compete in the IPL 5 tournament in Las Vegas on the 29th of November. They would take third in the group stages, suffering defeat twice at the hands of Moscow 5, but managing to win against Blackbean from Thailand. Being knocked to the losers bracket, Curse would sweep the series against Team Dynamic, and then be forced to fight against their sister team Curse EU. They would manage to eliminate Curse EU from the tournament 2-1 to advance against Taipei Assassins. The Taiwanese team would defeat Curse 2-0, ending their tournament run. Team Curse placed 7th-8th at the event and took home $1,750 in winnings.

Season 3

Curse with Saintvicious started off the Spring Season of the NA LCS Spring Season strong. They didn't drop a single game, up until week 4, when they lost their first game to Dignitas. Despite that loss, and having a rough rest of the season, Curse still finished 2nd, securing their spot in the Spring Playoffs along with securing their spot in the Summer Season of the NA LCS. Despite having a roster change right before the Playoffs, Curse went on to place 4th in the NA LCS Spring Playoffs.

On the eve of the NA LCS Summer Season, Team Curse announced the huge news that they would be filling their support role by EU ex-Gambit Gaming member Edward, who was the EU LCS All Star. He would be the first player to ever play in both NA and EU LCS. Despite the huge roster acquisition, Curse had a shaky Summer season, fighting hard to stay in the middle of the pack. They did end the season 13-15 in a 4th spot place going into NA LCS Summer Playoffs. They first faced off against Team Dignitas and even though winning their first game in a dominating fashion, they lost the next ones, losing 1-2, therefore having to play CLG for the 5th spot decider. Curse was unable to best CLG in the set losing 0-2, and were sent to relegation to play for their spot back in the Season 4 Spring Promotion.

2014 Preseason

In October 2013 Saintvicious stepped down from the player roster of Team Curse and opted to become their coach/analyst.

2014 Season

Curse's starting roster for the spring split consisted of Quas, IWDominate, Voyboy, Cop, and Zekent. After the end of the third week of the split, Saintvicious became the starting support in place of Zekent, and then at the end of the seventh week Saintvicious was in turn replaced by Bunny FuFuu.

Saintvicious then moved to the starting lineup for Curse Academy as their jungler for the upcoming season.

2015 Preseason

Curse Academy were given a seed into the Spring Expansion tournament as a result of their participation in the Promotion Tournament. With a roster of Hauntzer, Saintvicious, Keane, Cop, and Bunny FuFuu, they beat compLexity.White 2-0 in the online stage and then advanced to the live tournament, where they defeated Coast 3-1 and then Team Fusion 3-1, qualifying for the spring season. However, due to the one-team-per-organization rule, the roster was sold and became known as Gravity.

2015 Season

Gravity finished the spring round robin with a 10-8 record, in fifth place. In the quarterfinals, they lost 1-3 to Team Impulse and earned 10 Championship Points for the season. On May 11, Saintvicious announced that he may be retiring permanently from competitive League of Legends.[35] A week later, he joined Team Coast as their new head coach.[36] Upon joining the team, he compared his plans for Coast to his experiences with building up Gravity.[37]

2016 Season

Saintvicious left Team Coast and formed a new NACS team called Apex Gaming in January 2016 with himself as head coach and former Samsung mid laner BlisS as assistant coach.[38]
